LSHC Mens' First v City of Peterborough 3
Played Home on 11th March 2017Long Sutton welcomed Peterborough 3rd team, with the away side already relegated the men in green simply couldn't afford to lose. Sutton started slowly and was soon found themselves a goal down after a catalog of errors at the back, Fox had his pass picked off by the peterborough forward, Taylor missing his tackle and cliff in the Sutton goal completely missing his kick saw the ball bobble into the home net. Sutton picked themselves up and got a goal back before half time, a slipped penalty corner to Shore on the left flicked across goal and crept in at the far post. 1-1 at half time. After half time it was a bit more end to end with both teams defences being called into action, Sutton were able to take the lead Cook received the ball in the D twisting and turning, despite tackles flying in, found a pocket of space to slot the ball past the keeper for 2-1. A nervy 15 minutes or so followed for Sutton but the game ended 2-1.
