Off the back of a 5-0-win last week Sutton were at home once again against Jacko's best mates. It was a damp day with the ever present drizzle which would have a big role to play in making sure Mr Jackson went another week without a goal. Sutton started strongly with a free flowing full press and quickly St Neots were on the back foot. Some luscious passing play and movement off the ball from the midfield of fyson, batten, watt, Synnott and sargeant created a golden opportunity for Batten to kick us off. This was to be a welcome theme for the next 70 minutes. More of the same from Sutton allowed the goals to keep coming. Excellent work off the ball once again from Jackson created more opportunities for the home side to keep the scoreboard moving. Approaching halftime the score line read 4-0 with Batten and Baker both on the score sheet. However, just before the whistle, there was time for Synnott to join the party. Half time 5-0

Sutton began the second half where they left off with the same free flowing hockey played as before. However, we mustn't forget our friends at the other end of the pitch, the defenders, who remained solid throughout, not looking troubled at all. Ripley, Holmes, White and Skipper Braginton between the sticks were the important back bone to an electric XI. The second half welcomed more goals, with excellent work from Sargeant to create one for Baker and Nellis, summoning his young self was pin point with his passes to assist once again in the game. The game was coming to an end and Sutton were the dominant force still however, unfortunately they weren't able to keep hold of that illustrious clean sheet after St Neots managed to snatch one for their valiant effort throughout.

The game ended 8-1 with Batten claiming the MOTM award. A superb win for the side and a fantastic start to what looks to be a very promising season!
