Long Sutton produced a dominant performance to gain their second win of the season after making the short trip to Wisbech. The game opened slowly with both teams looking to influence the game but it was the visitors who opened the scoring as a through ball found Gary Hales who dummied the keeper before coolly slotting home. Sutton worked hard all over the pitch and passed the ball more quickly than in recent weeks with Will White enjoying his most productive game of the season in midfield. The away team extended the lead when Hales ran into the right of the circle and was unchallenged as he slotted the ball past the keeper. Sutton retained their lead until half time with keeper Matt Braginton making a couple of decent saves. After half time Wisbech came out looking to find a way into the match which came after a couple of minutes as Sutton failed to clear off the keepers pads and a home forward was able to slot home. This however galvanised the visitors who then enjoyed probably their best twenty minutes of the season. Josh Baker produced a wonderful pass for Hales to take in his stride, round the keeper and slot home for his hat-trick. Sutton then passed the ball the length of the pitch in a move involving six players before the ball found Baker who crashed home for a deserved goal in by far his most mature performance of the season. The fifth goal came as the energetic Luke Jackson wrong footed the keeper to slot home. Sutton must now look take the speed of pass and thought into the next few weeks. Will White was man of the match for an excellent all round game.
