Sutton entered this crucial bottom of the table clash with several players unavailable or called up to cover injuries and unavailability in the first team. Both sides fielded a bare 11 players and it was a game low on quality. Wisbech showed more desire and will to win than the hosts and went into the break a goal up after controlling the first half against a home team seemingly unwilling to mark or take responsibility. The hosts did show patches of better passing after interval with more effort put into marking, the away side did however add a further two goals as Sutton failed to test the visiting keeper in any meaningful way. Adam Taylor was man of the match with some hard work in defence, Ian White also stepped up from the fourth team and without his experience at the back the score could have been significantly worse.
