With captain Nick Ellis out for 3 weeks on vacation it was vice captain Luke Jackson leading the squad for the time being. Three regular members of the defensive back 4 unavailable, the team was out maned and out gunned this weekend. With no subs to use and members stepping up from the 3rds to cover the depleted side the green army took a (home game) thumping against COP. Saponenko, Clarke and King all filling into the back 4 certainly put in a valiant performance but the overwhelming strength of COP saw the Sutton side down 6-0 at half time. The second half started a lot more positive with simple, short, sharp passes racing across the pitch. Captain Luke Jackson neatly slipping one through the legs of the keeper and Harry Synnott firing one to glance off the far post, the game looked far more interesting for a possible come back... Sadly it was not to be the case with COP breaking down the defences once more and bagging 4 more goals to make it 10-1 full time. MOTM ~ Samuel Grey ~ extremely hard working all gameĀ
