Long Sutton went into this crucial game knowing that a win was required to help avoid relegation, for the 1st 28 minutes the game was relatively even with the visitors managing to create a few chances. Unfortunately as St Neots applied pressure and forced a number of short corners keeper Matt Braginton stayed down following a save, it quickly became clear that he had suffered a game ending injury. Simon Clarke gamily went in goal following an absence of several years but was unable to stop the hosts racing into a 2 goal lead. The second period was dominated by the home team as Sutton saw injuries and dropping heads take away any chance of getting back into the match. Jacob Synnott on his 2nd appearance and Harry Braginton on debut did show some fight and their quality and potential gives hope for next season and beyond. Sutton need a massive victory against champions elect Horncastle to stand any chance of staying up.
