Sutton went into this fixture with 11 players against a wisbech side the side started very much in Suttons favour and the forward players of Ian White and Adam Pack hassled wisbechs defence and both were unfortunate not to give Sutton an early lead. As it came to the mid way point of the first half wisbech were awarded a string of short corners of which were kept at bay. Sutton fortunes were soon changed and again were awarded a string of shorts corners of which Ian white swiftly converted. Sutton wasn't finished there and with 5 minutes left to play a Pack cross found Collingwood Smith at the back post which was tapped in. with being 2-0 Sutton continued to press and was again unfortunate not to convert from a multitude of shots from White, Pack, Goodley and Munson as well as a string of short corners. Half ended 2-0 The start of the second half saw the third team press hard in wisbechs half for a good majority of it with excellent work from jack and harry braginton along the left hand side as well as Ed Munson and James Collingwood Smith on the left. As Sutton started to tire and wisbech using their substitution effectively attacks start to dwindle and whilst Sutton remained in the wisbechs half for a good majority of it the few stray balls were either mopped up by jack and Jeremy smith in the central defence of Matt Braginton in goal having only needed to be called on two or three times within the half. As the half drew to a close the thirds had a second wind and passes soon started to string together and shots and short corners soon came and again were unfortunate not to convert. game ended 2-0 Sutton another 3 points in the bag for Suttons where as the team tired could easily have been lost but with excellent team work the visitors were kept at bay and gave no real chance for them to score. player of the match goes to James Collingwood Smith who ran his legs off for the entirety of the game often making 50 yard sprints to pick up his man to ensure no direct passage into our half as well as fighting through injuries he was dealt throughout the game.
